Schedule Your Private ConsultationWhat does the Boca Raton pool market actually look like?
It's the widest range of any city we serve — our quoted budgets run from a small resurface up through a $266,000 custom build. The median across every project is $47,040; among projects over $40,000, that rises to $95,000. One detail most people wouldn't guess: the ZIP code with the most large projects isn't the ZIP with the most projects overall. 33496 has more total projects (27), but 33434 (26 total projects) is home to 19 of our 49 Boca Raton projects over $40,000 — more than any other ZIP — which is where our biggest Boca Raton builds cluster.
Renovation is as big a part of the Boca Raton market as new construction. Of the 68 pool jobs Liquid Luxe has classified here, 27 are renovations of an existing pool, with a median budget of $59,745, and 26 are new builds, with a median of $99,886. See how we approach pool renovation.

What does it take to get a pool permitted in Boca Raton?
Boca Raton's Building Division runs one of the clearest permit checklists of the cities we serve: a Swimming Pool Permit submittal form, separate building, electrical, and plumbing applications, a signed Pool Safety Act acknowledgment, a property survey, and a form-board survey confirming layout before the concrete pour. The city also lists its inspections separately by trade — pool/spa shell (steel), safety barrier, deck rough and final, spa field final, and swimming pool final. (Source: City of Boca Raton Building Division, myboca.us.)
Setback requirements vary by zoning district, lot type, and — in a planned community — by the community's own architectural rules, so we confirm the applicable zoning before finalizing your design rather than quoting a single citywide number. And on safety: Florida law requires at least one of four protections on a new residential pool (barrier, certified safety cover, door/window alarms, or a certified underwater alarm) — not necessarily all four, and not necessarily a door alarm specifically. See the full permitting guide for all five cities.
Where in Boca Raton do you build pools?

Questions about building a pool in Boca Raton
Liquid Luxe has quoted 92 pool projects in Boca Raton — more than in any other city we serve — with budgets ranging from a small resurface up to a $266,000 custom build.
Across every project we've quoted in Boca Raton, the median budget is $47,040. Looking only at projects over $40,000, the median rises to $95,000, and new-construction projects specifically have a median of $99,886.
Our busiest ZIP codes are 33496 (27 projects), 33434 (26 projects), and 33487 (18 projects). Interestingly, the ZIP with the most large projects over $40,000 isn't the one with the most projects overall — that's 33434, home to 19 of our 49 Boca Raton projects over $40,000, ahead of 33496.
Three separate things. The permit: Boca Raton's Building Division requires a Swimming Pool Permit before construction begins — a submittal form, separate building, electrical, and plumbing applications, a signed Pool Safety Act acknowledgment, a property survey, and a form-board survey before the pour — and Liquid Luxe handles the full application. The city charges an initial deposit of 1% of the contract value (minimum $100), credited back at issuance, plus a general city fee of about 1.6% of total project cost. The setback: there is no single citywide number; it depends on your zoning district and lot type, so we confirm it against the City of Boca Raton's zoning rules (myboca.us) for your specific property before the design is final. The HOA: if your home is in a planned community, its architectural review board approves the design separately from the city, and we work that approval in parallel with the permit rather than one after the other.
State law (Florida Statutes §515.27 and §515.29) requires at least one of four protections on a new residential pool: a barrier at least 4 feet tall with a self-closing, self-latching gate; an ASTM-certified safety cover; door and window alarms on every opening with pool access; or a certified underwater alarm. A door alarm isn't mandatory on every project — it's one of the four options.
